Proper application is essential to ensure optimal performance and durability of CreteFlexo-44. The following steps provide a general guide to applying the sealant effectively:
Prepare the Surface:
Before applying CreteFlexo-44, it is critical to prepare the surface properly. The joint or gap should be free from any cracks that are much clean, free from dust, oils, grease or any form of loose particles.
Sealant Application :
CreteFlexo-44 can be extruded by means of caulking gun, trowel or putty knife according to the size and frequency of the joint. When using the sealant, it is recommended that the joint being sealed be completely filled to its edges without any interruption. In joints in horizontal surfaces use a backer rod to stuff up the joint prior applying the sealant. This also assists in controlling the depth of the sealant and guarantee that strong bond is formed.
Curing and Drying
CreteFlexo-44 sealant should not be subjected to any stress or water until the sealant has fully cured. On average cure time is in the range of about 24 to 48 hours depending with the level of temperature and humidity’s prevailing in the environment. The curing times should after all be as recommended by the manufacturer.
