The installation of CreteCoat WP 844 is simple, and the product can be applied in just a few steps. Below is a basic guide to applying CreteCoat WP 844:
Surface Preparation:
Ensure that you clean the surface you will apply the slurry by washing off all the existing dirt, dust, grease or anything that might hinder the bonding process. It is however recommendable to apply the coating on a mildly wet surface, but not dripping wet. It is necessary to seal any possible crack or hole visible at the surface using the right filler’s content.
Mixing:
In a clean container, mix CreteCoat WP 844 powder with clean water. The suggestive ratio between water and the powder is normally recommended by the manufacturer who recommended that it should be around 20-25% by weight of water. Stir until homogeneous mass with no lumps is formed.
Application:
When applied; the slurry should be brushed, rolled or troweled onto the surface of the substrate. Make sure that the product is spread in uniform manner and make sure that joints and seams are properly coated. To get optimal results, apply two layers of CreteCoat WP 844, with about 3-4 hours interval between each layer.
Curing:
Make sure the applied slurry takes 24 - 48 hours to set before the APSCs is exposed to water. It will be pertinent to ensure that the surface of the substrate is moist and maintained wet during the curing of the cementitious slurry so that no cracks are developed while the cementitious slurry attains greater hydration.
